After many years in the alpaca business and continued frustration with not only the quality of fodder purchased in but also the never ending issue with unscrupulous vendors selling so called "weed free" hay that arrived with untold amounts of noxious weeds Matthew made the decision in the late 90s that the only way to ensure the quality was to do it ourselves hence the decision was made to purchase Stonelodge and Haymans on the river Murray at the Coorong near Meningie.

These 2 properties total an area of 10,000 acres with over 1,000 acres under centre pivot irrigation growing Lucerne hay, otherwise known as alfalfa, primarily for our own company dairies, beef herds and most importantly the alpaca operation EP Cambridge located some 100 km away.
